Design harmony is important. Perhaps you already have a sink or a faucet in mind and can use either piece as a starting point. Identify what it is that you really like that particular sink or faucet and it will become clearer the direction of your redesign will go. For instance, when you begin your house plan modifications, do your preferences run toward sleek, modern lines, then you will probably want a contemporary design. If you love the farm house look, maybe you will choose a wall mount faucet. Remember that color and finish are also key considerations as well as functionality. Design harmony is also important in your house plan modifications when you are matching countertops and your cabinets. You may have always loved the look of stainless steel, but if the cabinets you choose are clearly country, the warm colors and solid looks of a cast-iron sink may be a better fit.
